Yes,

I feel worn-out and fatigued because everything in my life here became more intensify right now. My program demands to me more meeting participation; appointment with others Humphreys and attendance a seminar and conference… Those activities hurt me because I need to make choice and sometimes I really made bad choices. In addition, a increase of activities make me feel like a careless student, a careless mother, a careless professional … because all of my obligation –special homework – will accumulated and when a start do finish or complete then. I hope I can finish this semester with all of my obligations ready and with quality.

Read a novel in English

Friends,
I need to share with you how difficult is reading a modern novel in English. Special when the author wants to show or explain emotion and conversation in “Speaking English” or “colloquial speech”. He used a lot of slang that are not familiar to me. Before I stated read this book I had been read a novel by Sidney Sheldon and this author used a formal English and this book became more easer to me that our novel. But, despite all difficulties, I like some much read and this novel is good and has a beautiful message.

Hi friends,

I really enjoyed when we had had the opportunity to talk about home school with a dedicated mother. I think she is very strong to do everything for her children’s and almost forget herself. Maternity is a kind of abandon of our self, but when our kids have class, party, trips or play in the street, we have some time to breath. In her case she stays with her children for long time all day and weekdays. I think that I’ll be tired of my children and then will be tired of my also. But she did very well I hope that she never became tired.

Humphrey Seminar

Hi Friends of the entire world. (I love say this)

I am absent in class two weeks ago because I went in a seminar very important to may program. If you don’t know anything about my program, you should go to this site and learn more it is a amused program: http://www.journalism.umd.edu/Humphrey/
In this seminar we could know each other and make good network. We had several activities and social events like a dinner in U.S. State Department in Washington D.C; meeting with non governmental organization; international agencies for example; World Bank and Global Rights; U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development and U.S. Department of Commerce – Technology Administration. In addition we had have opportunity to visited a high school in U.S. I went in a school close to College Park and I had had a nice time with students from this school. They were in Music class- chorus group- waiting for us and they have preview information about me and they single to me a music in Portuguese. Of course, I was crying very much because the music that they pick up is from my childhood and make me little homesick. I have some pictures from this emotionally week where I had met my Humphrey colleagues and made new friends and also I knew more about United States that have been hosted me very well. I don’t have digital camera, so this pictures are from my friend’s camera, that it’s very late my post in this blog.
Enjoyed this memories.

Fiel Trip Library of Congress

I really enjoyed that field trip to the Library of Congress.
That building is huge. It is amazing in every sense.
“Everything that looks like gold ….is gold!” …
The phrase above made me think about all that gold that comes from Latin America to Europe and the U.S. It is a lot of money. Sorry raise this sort of analyses but I can’t understand why we still need to pay an incredible mount of money to the World Bank?! If I look through an economic perspective, I’ll find answers to this question. But if I look through the history perspective, which gives me a different lent to look the results of years and years of exploration by rich countries, I’ll confirm my nausea and uncomfortable feeling when I was there (in the Library). When I remember each details and think about I realized that we work a lot, but we don’t see the results only the rich countries can build beautiful “castles”, modern labs, modern and perfect universities, etc. The American people are not guilt. The Library of Congress isn’t guilt. This inequality is a result of a cumulative history of steal and non-respect for other people. I just want to tell you guys and teacher about the “butterfly in my stomach”, because we need to think about the future. Think about how we can change this way, this bad destiny. How we can stop the beast of inequality and exploration by human abusing others human. I loved every thing that I saw and I am enjoying be in America. However, I want to offer the same facilities to my people in Brazil. It’s my dream.

Harpers Ferry

Better later that never.
I am late to write about Harpers Ferry, but I really enjoyed this where I learned about some part of the American history and had a nice time with my friends. I took some pictures and now I have memories forever from these pictures. I'll publish some of them here in my blog and I'll share with you my perspective about this city. Also I’ll share with you,when I have one, pictures from Brazil. Because I want to encourage you to visit my beautiful country. I hope we can have a good time together.

My first october weekend in the US.

Well,
I had been working all weekend. So,my first October weekend in the US I am tired!
I need to massage! Jennifer!!!! Help me!
News: I almost finish my Individual Program Plan - IPP, to Humphrey Program - Fulbright. And I start organized paper to bring my daughter to here. I still have a lot of paper to fill in and a lot of money to pay.
But I have good news also: My friend send to me my pictures from Shenandoah park… It’s great and wonderful. I’ll post two pictures only for to temp you guys to go there. Is magic. See you soon.

Four weeks and how about my English?

That’s it!
After four weeks of studying English continuously, I need to say something about my improvement.
Let’s think about this time here in MEI – Maryland. Maybe you don’t know, but before I came here I had been studying English in Eugene, Oregon. And when I arrived there I had no idea about English. Before that time, I had never studied English. So, I think that my teachers there had a hard time trying to explain to me some basic notion about English language and structure. I believe that they did a good job because now I feel comfortable absorbing more and more English.
Here I have been studying grammar and new vocabulary for one month. I think that my reading is getting better but when I try to write, I don’t know what happens; I still make big mistakes with verb tenses. I will be trying to write more and more. I know that if I write every day I will be able to overcome my mistakes. I also know that reading a lot will help me reach my goal.

Really I don’t have enough time to enjoy the first look fair here in UMD. But, on few minutes that I had had I saw some interesting organization and group. But for me, more important is the how this time is great opportunity for every new student know more about the experience and achievements of the veterans. This is a good idea because we can enjoy N groups and thus make new friends and training more and more English.

I tray to be actually with my blog, so today I’ll talk about some activities that everybody did even thought I didn’t. But if I had doing a different thing in the same time, I’ll relate for you right now. First of all, unfortunately I don’t have enjoyed with you the lunch in Diary. Even so I had been collected information about this place through Sandy. I think that after de Hamadan, we should be goes in this place again. I should be taste famous ice cream from Diary. Though, I need to tell you that last Wednesday I have had lunch with my classmate from Asian in Japanese restaurant.

My Speaking Partner

Hi Everybody

I want to tell you about my speaker partner. I meet her last week in a reception offered for MEI for make easily the first meeting between us. She is so cut and she is undergraduate student and her major is in biology. Her name is Aimee, she is American and she like discussion about political and environmental issues. We suppose to meet on Tuesday in front of the Coffee Store in Stamp Student Union. I think that my partner speaker is good person and open for me a different gate for to learn English. This is a good idea and experience.
